Climate change necessitates an energy transition from fossil fuels to circular energy carriers. The imbalance between supply and demand in both time and location where sustainable energy is generated or used, creates a need for large-scale energy storage and transportation over long distances. Iron powder is a promising candidate as an energy carrier.
Metalot developed a vision document together with its partners. The vision document discusses the application and potential, the current status and the way forward.
To support the vision document, a feasibility study was carried out by TNO with the aim of gaining insight into the costs of the Iron Power supply chain for high temperature heat.
Both documents can be downloaded here.
We thank the Province of Noord-Brabant and RVO for making these studies possible.
A central website in which all information about Iron Power, the active parties and the projects is visible. Metalot acts as an independent, non-commercial player in the role of community builder.
We aim for a launch in januari 2025.
