Retrospect on Metalot@Work 13 December - ZLTO headquarters

Many smiling faces during this special Metalot@Work session at the ZLTO Headquarters in Den Bosch. More than 60 interested parties witnessed the first joint steps towards more sustainable energy storage in the agricultural sector. With the use of iron powder as a safe, transportable, flexible storage medium for sustainable energy, new avenues are emerging that we will explore in 2024.

Holarchic approach

Introducing the afternoon was Dr Mart van Bracht. He is Director of System Integration of Top Sector Energy. In his presentation, he gave insight into the complex structure of the energy system and its opportunities. In the presentations by Eric van der Spelt, Cees de Bas and Luuk van Wezel, we went from theory to daily practice. It is precisely these concrete examples that show what we will be working on in 2024. Opportunities and questions abound. Now we need to move things forward.

The 2030 energy mix we make together

After the break and the visit of the various demonstrations, specialists from various sectors spoke. Together with Ruud Cino (director team Energy System and Innovation at Ministry of Economic Affairs), Rogier Aerts (network manager Enexis), Annemiek Bles (Brainport Development) and Judith Tesser (municipality of Nuenen), a number of topics were discussed in terms of content. By looking for so-called linking opportunities, an abstract discussion on network congestion can turn into a constructive discussion on actual solutions. A challenge for 2024!
